The Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act says that protection will “terminate for any person upon sentencing following conviction for a Federal or State offense that is punishable for a term of imprisonment of at least one year.”

Thompson argues in a fact sheet for the DISGRACED Former Protectees Act, that the bill “would remove the potential for conflicting lines of authority within prisons and allow judges to weigh the sentencing of individuals without having to factor in the logistical concerns of convicts with Secret Service protection.”

Although Trump’s name is not mentioned in the bill’s text, the fact sheet points out that “former President Donald J. Trump’s unprecedented 91 felony charges in Federal and State courts across the country have created a new exigency that Congress must address to ensure Secret Service protection does not interfere with the criminal judicial process and the administration of justice.”

The fact sheet also points out that the bill proposed by Thompson will “apply to former President Trump.”

Grade-school civics-class textbook fantasies concerning "fair and impartial" juries (among many other similarly comforting fairy tales) are all well and good - but that's not how things work in the real world (especially relative to the hyper-hysterical environment in which we've all been steeped for almost the last decade).

Just as for the last two presidential elections, no matter the outcome of this trial (or the others), a substantial and significant number of people are going to reject it as biased, invalid, and (further) proof of perfidy.

Considering the ideology of people today, I don't know if less children is a bad thing.
I think for 50 years or more responsible people that paid their own way had children they could afford and poverty stricken people on the dole had larger families to keep the entitlement benefits flowing their way.
I guess my point is there are many people that are not qualified to be parents.
My guess is that the entitlement birthing mothers are still pushing out their quotas, and responsible, capable, intelligent men, are on the sidelines because the sane, responsible, capable, female, is near extinction.
So we end up with a worse class of citizens and the gene pool is diluted even farther.
